Livelink Expert Bio Content Fields

Like most content types, the Livelink Expert Bio edit form has fields that are, essentially, the intended content or data, and other fields that help identify, classify, describe, and manage the content typically referred to as the metadata This page is about the data fields only as can be seen by the attached image, these are:

  1. Livelink Expert Name - while Livelink-Experts.com utilizes much about social media this is a business oriented site and so, in most cases, this should be your proper, full name as you'd like to be known to your business contacts
  2. Brief Overview - this field is where you have the most flexibility within the content type to let people know who you are and what is important and interesting about you. NOTE this field has an Input Filter that is set to Plain Text by default, that is a necessary action for security purposes but it is probably not the Input Filter you should use. We recommend using the Premium User filter that provides a full-featured WYSIWYG in-line editor that can create simple and complex pages as befits both the need and knowledge of the author.
  3. Extras - this is an fieldgroup containing some common meta-information about you that is collapsed by default (to keep things less cluttered) but is worthy of filling out just the same. The Extras fieldgroup contains the following fields:
    1. PROFILE - This is a URL to your full GATE Village Profile found at /user for yourself, at /user/UID for a specific user (assuming you know their User ID), or at /users/username (where "username" is the the Account or User Name of the account with spaces changed to hyphens and capital letters changed to lower-case (though both should work); this should be auto-completed with a pointer to your profile but it can be changed to a company profile or removed altogether buy clearing the field.
    2. User Since - this is the full date indicating when you were first introduced and/or started working with Livelink, it is a full date so that the date-picker can be used without confusion (the javascript date-picker insists upon a full date and it is too cool a toy not to utilize); the actual day you started with Livelink is not very important, estimate it the best you can
    3. Related Websites  - here you may enter up to 10 external web sites with descriptive titles that are connected to you and you would like to promote. Note that your User Profile includes the ability to enter "Follow Me" settings as well for the more common social media sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook et. al. Note also that the order of these URLs can easily be changed either by updating the "Order" tab or simply by clicking on the star on the far left of each sub-field and dragging it up or down.
  4. Skills - This is a multiple select field that indicates the particular skills related to the full Open Text ECM Suite that pertain to you. Note that indicating you have a particular skill does not necessarily mean that you are an expert in that skill, only that you will be included with the group of people with that skill. This javascript-based picker understands the typical use of CTRL and SHIFT keys where holding the CTRL key down allows selecting multiple entries and holding the SHIFT key down selects from the previous position to this new one; selected text can then be moved to the opposite window by clicking on the green plus (+) or minus (-). If you feel there is a skill or skills missing, please let us know and we will make the appropriate updates.
  5. Products - These are the specific Open Text products that you offer some skill, knowledge, or expertise in. This field uses the same multi-select widget as the Skills field. Note that not all products as listed are available for sale by Open Text and/or may only be available as part of some other products. If you feel there is a skill or skills missing, please let us know and we will make the appropriate updates.
  6. Product Groups - are the various Open Text lines of business selling Products and Solutions specific to a horizontal or vertical market. The Open Text ECM Suite is an example of a horizontal market as it applies to virtually all markets and disciplines where as the "ECM Suite Apps for Energy" is an example of a vertical market. Product Groups are often also related to companies acquired by Open Text that remain distinct business units like FirstClass and Eloquent Media Server. If you feel there is a skill or skills missing, please let us know and we will make the appropriate updates.

The remaining fields in this content type are meta-data and described on subsequent pages.
